Hey folks. Iām on day 16 of no smoking here. Today I did something amazing. I hung out with a friend who vapes and I did not ask to hit his vape even though I really wanted to. Hooray! Iām getting stronger every day.
Anyway, as many of you know, drinking and smoking kind of go hand in hand. It isnāt a night out unless my friends and I end up in a circle sharing a cigarette. I have messed up my quits many times by just bumming āone cigaretteā from some guy at the bar. Then a few days later I find myself at the gas station buying a pack.
So this time, I stopped drinking too. Iāve read a lot of stories from people online who had to quit drinking for a while in order to quit smoking too because they had this same problem. I havenāt drank for 21 days. Iām 22, so with that age in mind I usually drink 1-3 times a week. Nothing crazy, but the second that first sip touches my lips I wanna light one up (and I will go to great lengths to find a cigarette).
So, for those of you who have had the same problem and perhaps taken a similar route as me, when did you feel like you could drink again without losing control and smoking?
So proud of you all. Keep up the good work. You can do this.
