Today marks 2 weeks with no kratom. 2 months ago I never would have believed I could make it this far. I'm very proud of myself and noticing some positive physical changes (skin and hair look better, I think) , but things are still hard mentally. I can get motivated in the morning, but in the afternoon I develop this soul-sucking depression. It's been pretty intense and kind of scary. I'm just hoping this will end eventually. I really need to turn some kind of corner. I've just been trying to keep my mind busy, but sometimes I can't focus on anything and I realize I've just been staring at the wall, lost in my head. To end this on a positive note though, I can tell I am more able to have social interactions, even small ones. I don't over analyze every single word I say as much as I did when using kratom. I've always been socially anxious so I don't expect it to go away completely. But last night an old friend sent me a message and instead of ignoring it I wrote back. We've made plans to hang out this weekend and watch a movie or something. I NEVER would have done this if I was still using kratom. I'm still nervous about it, I haven't hung out with people in YEARS. But I feel more confident and capable of doing this than i ever was on kratom. I feel more like myself, so I'm more willing to present myself to another person and see how it goes. These positive changes are what I hold on to when the depression kicks in. Just wanted to share.
