I've been tapering for over a month and have found myself stuck around 7.5 gpd. I've really struggled to go any lower than this, tho I've managed not to binge and use tons. I haven't gone up past 9.5 gpd. I've been stuck here, just struggling to keep from using more in hopes I won't screw up the progress I've made until I can find a way to go lower.
One good thing about my tapering is that it has allowed me to go much longer between doses, and with less withdrawal effects. Before it was difficult to go even 3 hours without a dose. Now I can go 7 hours without feeling very uncomfortable. 12 hours before I start getting really uncomfortable. I just haven't been able to get any lower than my 3 2.5 gram doses a day. One in the morning, one around noon, and one in the evening.
This morning I woke up and it had been 12 hours since my last dose. I was uncomfortable but not nearly as bad as I have been in the past. A big part of me wanted to just jump, and not take my morning dose. I almost did it. But then I started having really bad stomach pains. I'm not sure if it was gas or just the beginning of withdrawals but the pain from it immediately made me give in and I took my morning dose. I can deal with most withdrawal symptoms, but the GI/bowel symptoms make me give in every time. I couldn't lay in bed writhing in pain. I had to get up and shower and go take care of my mom.
So, question: would immodium help with something like this? I've heard mixed reviews on it around here. I know the pain had to be from some bowel related withdrawal symptom. And if I could get past that pain maybe I would actually be able to jump from where I'm at now. I don't have much money. I can't afford tons of supplements. Any advice greatly appreciated!
