This is related to kratom but also I just wanted to share this news with someone.
I've been an addict about half my life (I'm 36),so no surprise I ended up taking kratom. I'm still on my slow taper. Due to my mental health issues/self medicating I ended up in jail and with legal troubles 10-12 years ago. I've been clean off of everything except kratom and medical marijuana (amphetamines, opiates, benzos) for 4.5 years. I've been working to get my criminal records expunged.
A couple months ago I had a court hearing to expunge 2 misdemeanors, and the expungement was granted. Today I had court to expunge the worse of 2 felonies (you can only expunge 1 felony in your lifetime - at least where I live). That expungement was also granted. Even with one felony left, it feels so nice and freeing to hear the court acknowledge that I have done what needs to be done to turn my life around.
I hate that I'm still on kratom, but I'm trying to quit and that's something. I wanted to take an extra dose this morning because I was so nervous about having to get up on the stand and testify, but I didn't. I also wanted to take an extra dose when I got out of court - to "celebrate" (we addicts will find a reason lol). But I didn't do that either. I celebrated with an iced coffee.
Thanks guys, just wanted to share this.
