Quitting Kratom Cold Turkey

Post Body

Hi, all. This is my first post and I'm just looking to gain some knowledge about what to expect.

I've been using kratom for about 3-4 years now. I initially started using it as a form of harm reduction. So I don't use it for any sort of pain management/control. I've been sober from alcohol and methamphetamine for years now. I've frequented a few treatment centers in my past, but ultimately I quit both substances cold turkey. If I could go back, I would've never started using this shit.

Treatment isn't an option obviously. Neither is tapering down. If I could taper off substances, I wouldn't have ever likely picked this habit up in the first place. 😁 I'm finally sick enough of it, the way it makes me feel (very sick at times), and the amount of money I've wasted the last few years. I'm also not very interested in the idea of utilizing other addictive substances to kick this habit, only to have to worry about getting off of something else afterward. Cold turkey is pretty much the only way I'm willing to do this. I just haven't ever quit, so I don't know if I'm anticipating more than I'll actually physically/mentally experience. I know all about PAWS, and know how badly it sucks. But I'm more curious about physical withdrawal symptoms.

I've read all the articles, reddits, and have done enough research to have a broad idea of what to expect, but I do know that everyone is different.

Anywho, I'm committed to making the choice to cut this shit out of my life forever. Tomorrow will only be my first entire day without it. I know right this minute that I can go two solid days without feeling any physical withdrawal symptoms, but I haven't gone any longer than that. I've heard people say the WD symptoms started 3-5 days after quitting? Maybe more or less, I'm in need of some encouraging words and support because I very much plan on utilizing everything I've learned from my experience already living in recovery from substance use. But if you guys have any over-the-counter remedies that are easily attainable and don't require a trip to my physician, I will happily consider them.

Thank you to anyone reading this, and for taking the time to throw some wisdom and guidance my way!
