I'm currently working on my first ever quilt. I'm using fabric from extra baby blankets my daughter had been gifted as a newborn. I also used some extra flannel fabric to give the quilt some more color and to have more to work with. I nearly have the top assembled at this point. The thing I'm concerned about is that the baby blanket fabric isn't super thick. On some level I have accepted that this is my first quilt and I've never done this before, so it's okay if it doesn't come out perfect or needs patching down the line (I mean, I'm gonna be giving it to my daughter who's only three, so whatever I give her might need patching down the line anyway). That said, is there anything I can or ought to do for the parts that use the thinner fabric to help it last well? And do I need to be careful about what batting to use if my fabric is thinner?
