Quicken 2017 is unusable - locks up constantly - what, if anything, can I do?

I have Quicken 2017 deluxe and it constantly locks up during "One Step Update" or when I click on one of my investment accounts and it automatically tries to "Download quotes, asset classes, headlines, and alerts". I've tried uninstalling, renaming the directories, reinstalling with the updates, repairing the data files, etc and still get the same errors. Every time I try to run the software, it locks up and I need to shut it down with task manager.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to get it running

ps - I'm running Windows 10 64bit
