Seriously. Are We?
We're INCESSANTLY marching toward war but we take steps back occasionally
There a lot of people who argue We're already in WW3 and there are some that argue we've had more World Wars than that
Don't ask me to detail the arguments, I just know people who study shit like this make the arguments
Personally, I'd be inclined to know if we even have a consensus on what a world War is because from where I'm sitting, none of these wars are isolated with a bunch of countries taking part as proxies i.e. supplying arms etc
So like, if what you're saying is, could the western developed leading warmongers become DIRECTLY involved with their own troops, idk prolly not soon, Americans have little appetite to put troops in say, Ukraine
But if Russia were to use a something like nuke, then yeah buddy, get your fucking doctor's notes to avoid that draft
