Why do label step/half family as such even if they have good relationships?
Post Body

For those of you with step family that youโ€™re genuinely close with, do you still refer to them as step mom, step brother, step sister etc? I always found it odd because i have a couple friends with step family that they are super close with but they still always never forget to include the step/half when they mention them. Just seems odd to me because if I was that close with them i would just label them as mom/bro/sis instead of adding the step/half. I understand it is correct to label them as such but just seems weird to me if you truly have a good relationship with them
