Natural cycle IUI/ICI
Post Body

I posted this in Trying for a baby because of the wider audience, but it's more applicable to this sub. I don't have any known fertility issues and my cycle is like clockwork. I just had my pre-conception checkup with my OB/GYN, and she gave me the green light to get started. Our plan is to try to follow my natural cycle for a couple of months and start trying with back to back IUIs in January. I've started temping and my OPK strips should be arriving tomorrow.

The way it looks now, my most fertile days appear to fall on Fri/Sat. Because their office is closed on Saturday, I wouldn't be able to do an IUI that day. I am reluctant to go to a fertility clinic, because they require a lot of additional hoops that I am not wanting to jump through at this point and I REALLY like my OB/GYN. I had the thought that maybe I could go in for the IUI on Friday and then try home insemination on Saturday to increase the timing chances. Has anyone ever tried anything like this? I know that ICI is considered less effective than IUI, and I don't want to waste a vial of sperm ($$$!) for no good reason. Anyone ever try something like this?

Edit: My cycle always starts on the same day of the week because it's almost always exactly 28 days/4 weeks long and has been for years. Hence the Fri/Sat prediction. :)
