How are internal awards...awarded?
Post Body

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for any guidance here. I'm a grad student & have been selected for two fairly substantial awards offered by Queen's during my time here. On paper, this is great, but I haven't been able to put a cent of it towards tuition. Instead, the funds have gone entirely to my supervisor to substitute what they pay me for my stipend.

I was wondering if it's commonplace for students to not see any of their internal scholarships at the graduate level. What stings even more is that they joke that "I'm rich" and that I owe them a coffee, meanwhile I have two jobs outside of being a full-time student to cover living expenses...

Cheers!
