vkQuake Jittery—Framerate Goes From Constant to 30s

Hey guys,
Running vkQuake on macOS (10.14—Macbook Pro Mid–2012—Nvidia GeForce GT 650M) and having some issues. Although my framerate says it stays a constant 72 or 60 FPS, the screen and gameplay seems to jitter a bit. I'm figuring it's due to my hardware. Looking to see if it may possibly not be. (Is there a version that runs on Metal?)
Quakespasm gives me no issues whatsoever and barely pushes the hardware.
