[Q1/Q2] Maps/Mappacks that aren't as dark as base game

Post Body

I want to play some Quake (already played it before) but with a less grimm or dark environment, because the OG one is too dark for my current mental state.

I've played (and loved) Wrath: Aeon of Ruin and I loved it, it's not actually as dark as Quake, or at least it doesn't look like it because it uses a brighter color palette and more open areas, so you don't feel that much agony.

Dusk is a no-no right now because it evokes the same feelings as Quake.

Hrot is good, but I already played it. Also is a bit darker than I'd like right now.

Doom (1993) is ok, but I've played it for years and now I wan't something more Quakey. It woyuld be a good suggestion if I hadn't played it already.

Prodeus is really good and not as dark as Quake, but I already completed the Early Access campaign and I played tons of custom maps. It would be a good suggestion otherwise.

Ultrakill, I've played it to the point where the skill required is over my skill and I don't want the stress of getting good, even though I am used to the "Try Again" phylosophy of bash your head to the wall until you learn it's weakpoint. Just that... not now. Also a good suggestion.

Quake Slayer's Testament mod is what I'm playing right now, and I'm loving it, but I want something else to play with when I get frustrated/burned out of that mod.

I've mentioned those games so you get an idea of what I would like and what I've tried. I post this in Quake subreddit mostly because I'm thinking of Quake mappacks/mods rather than full games, but full game suggestions are good too, I'm open to new stuff.

I'd like mods for either Quake or Quake 2. I got both on Gog version, but I'm not scared of messing with sourceports.

Thanks!
