My QNAP TS-351 16GB 1x1GB M2. SSD runs system apps at a sluggish pace and in some cases refuse to open applications. I tried to open storage & Snapshots and it refused. It took almost a day to open the application.

My mistake was not buying two m2. ssds 1 for ssd caching the other just for system apps. of course, had i known it was going to be this much of an issue to use the interface built with the qnap, I would have made more lateral moves.

the NAS is for databasing, plex media server and indexing.

I can't buy the next one in series yet.

Do I

a) wait to buy the next one

b) buy the other m2. ssd and try to reinstall the system os on that

c) ignore the qnap interface altogether and use my own which is much snappier

d) all of the above
