Please help a brother out

It’s a brand new Pi Zero 2W with a waveshare v4 e-ink screen. My question is why I got it to work fine earlier with JayoFelonys 2.7.9 image, now it’s not? I had already changed the config.toml display to “waveshare_3” which is what worked fine earlier. Took the sd card out to add some plugins and change some things. I put it back in, SSH’d into it and everything, but now refreshing the screen it doesn’t fully show everything but is still working.
What am I doing wrong here?
