Just a reminder that you should always use the metadata parameter (set it to true) and check the metadata key to make sure that no shards are offline and that all shards are operational.
Elasticsearch will make a best effort to return data and will still return data if shards are offline for whatever reason. By checking the shard status with each API call, you can make sure that all data is being returned for your particular request.
