Large sequence of comment ids not being returned by the reddit API -- causing stability issues with pushshift ingest

I noticed that there was an issue this morning with a bunch of comment ids that were "missing" --The call that was returning only submissions. It appears that large gaps in comment ids are occurring from the large increase in recent spam activity. Usually the ingest will start to increment the last scene comment id after a few failed attempts but this gap appears to have been huge. At some point, the logic to detect where the next valid comment id is will probably have to be rewritten.
