So we read a lot about AA, but not much about TPTWP. We also have had a very narrow perspective of the world of Ice and Fire. Almost everything has been about the good side and the champion of light. We haven't had much in the way of the champion of the dark. We know nothing about the Others (You know nothing, Jon Snow). We don't even know The Great Other's name. What if TPTWP is separate from AA; in fact, the opposite of AA? TPTWP could be the champion of the Others. That would fit the whole prophecies-are-a-mule-kick thing. I think the evidence is overwhelming that Dany is AA, but my theory is Jon is TPTWP.
Following R L=J, he is a prince, more so we know he has the best claim to the throne, making him King. He is at the moment a Brother of the Night's Watch, stabbed and dying. (Knight's King, lol) He did start by fighting wildlings but soon learned more of their perspective and treated with them. He made peace to end the war with freefolk to combine forces against the Others. If he dies and is reborn as a Wight, that would fit the "forever changed" description GRRM gave us.
The overall theme of the books is: war makes ruin. We need to end all wars and fighting. The end outcome is not going to be a war to vanquish all evil, but a bringing of peace. Why would a consciences objector write about the need for war?
So Dany on her dragons and Jon with his Ice Spiders will come together to reach a truce. She (who spent her whole life in the tropics) and he (who spent his whole life in the snow) will divide the year equally into summer and winter.
/sorry if my thoughts are incoherent with a lack of citation, I'm dyslexic and only listened to the audiobooks.
