Hello everyone,
I recently, about 2 weeks ago, got an 11 week old Alaskan Malamute, her name is Lucy, and I love her so much. I feel though that she does not feel the same way. When I sit on the floor and want to pet and love on her, she just barks and runs away from me. Then she will slowly return, bark and run away again when I reach out to pet her. Am I misinterpreting this as a sign of trust issues? She is an ESA for me in university, so we do not have an extravagant life but I always make an effort to get her out and let her run around each and every day.
When we are in the room together and I am working on homework and she gets bored, she goes to the opposite side of the room to sleep, but when it is time for me to go to bed, she wants in the bed and sleeps around my feet.
Just the way she acts around me makes me think that she does not trust me, and maybe it's just too soon in the relationship for her to be excited about seeing me, but she gets excited around everyone but me and will lay, lick, and play with them but not me.
Does anyone know what is happening, or am I just overthinking and stressing for no reason? Any help would be appreciated.
