We have a beautiful Romanian dog, Daisy who has just turned 9 months.
She is great apart from arousal biting which we are working on and is getting better for sure.
The other night though we had a bit of a scary situation and I think it was completely my fault though. So we went on our first holiday with the dog and literally the day before we leave she goes into her first season. On the 2nd day of the holiday she went in some pond water which we didn’t know was green algae till afterwards so we were worried anyways. That night she started being sick in the bedroom so we take her out the back because she was signalling to get out( it’s worth noting it was pretty dark by this point and there was just a small light on). When we got out she was sick again, I had her her on a lead so when she went to eat her own sick I pulled the lead a little but not to hard to which she growled at me, almost like she was resource guarding (sick?!). At this point my girlfriend came out of the house and just sees her eating her own sick and clearly worried approaches her to try and lift her away. It’s at this point our dog lost its sh*t and bit my girlfriend on the arm.
I suppose I just want reassurance because I know this was absolutely our fault, we were just really worried about her health (she’s absolutely fine now)
-She is in heat - In a different environment - was in between being sick -it was fairly dark -she did warn us she was uncomfortable, I just didn’t have time to relay that to my girlfriend.
We are going to work on the resource guarding for sure but I suppose I was just looking for some reassurance as she’s never been an aggressive dog.
