So, we got our puppy Arlo back in December. He'll be 8 months old in three days. Our senior dog, Pugsley, had surgery on Friday and a liver biopsy the vet already told us based on the color of the liver to expect bad news. Arlo has been super great in being respectful, the Composure might be helping (not something we'd been using but wanted to play it safe since Pugsley has stitches)
My concern, since the vet anticipates liver cancer in Pugsley and already told us chemo is a mixed bag, at best. Plus, I watched how chemo ravaged family members who could grasp the why of what was happening to them. I'd have a hard time putting a dog through it. Anyways, my concern how do we get Arlo through what's to come? I've never dealt with pet loss with how it impacts another pet. Any help on how to guide Arlo into and through this process would be appreciated. It might be six weeks, six months, or another year. But, I'd rather have the knowledge to refer to available later then have to make words to find it. Pugsley is my fiance's dog, she had him for seven years before we met. I know how to support a person. I just want to be able to come back to this post, when needed, so I have the knowledge on hand to help Arlo.
