Post Body

I have a 6 month old Indian Pariah/Dobermann mix who has grown quite big since the last 4 months compared to the other Indian Pariah dogs so many dog owners assume he is a well behaved and calm adult. But, we had a lot of trouble socializing Django with smaller dogs. He was very playful with bigger dogs but always tried to dominate and attack smaller dogs. The hair on his back would stand up, he would growl and always scare away smaller dogs until now. On top of that, he has a habit of playing very physically (he loves a good tug of war, a fight and some pushing with me) so I was always scared of letting him near small dogs.

Now, a family in the building next to mine got a 2 month Lab puppy who we have been seeing from afar for the last week. Today, the owner asked us if we could let Django near his dog since his dog also needs socialization. I told him that I'm a bit scared of how Django will react to her but the owner insisted that we at least try from a distance. As soon as we went near them, Django did a play bow and started sweetly barking at her. The owner then let the Lab puppy near him and Django was soooooo sweet with her. He didnt play with her physically, didn't playbite and instead let her jump on him, chase him and just be an overall gentleman. I'm so proud of my boy. Just wanted to write my thoughts somewhere. I was waiting for this day since months.

Edit - He also let me pet the puppy. Before, he would get extremely possessive if anyone from my family even touched another dog.
