Should I separate my puppy's cage from the older dogs while crate training her?
Post Body

I'm getting a new puppy within the next few weeks. She's a red Siberian mixed with a white Alaskan Husky. I plan to train her, especially crate train. I've trained my own dogs before so the process is not big deal, but I need opinions on what to dog with my older dogs.

I have a 6 year old Golden Retriever and a a 7 year old Lab mix. Both are crate trained, though I don't currently have a crate for either of them. I moved a little while back and my dogs are pretty well behaved most of the time so they have free reign of my house while I'm gone and usually when I'm sleeping.

Should I separate my puppy's crate while working on crate training her and when I leave? With my current dogs the older one liked to lay by the younger one's cage, but they're a special case. I also like to have the crate in my room so the puppy can sleep there with me, but I normally sleep with my door open so the older dogs can wander in and out. Do you think this will cause a problem?

I know every new puppy and training has it's own process, but any tips, advice, anecdotes from your experience, or anything will help me decide the best option so I don't stress my puppy or my older dogs out too much!
