Pup eats his own poo

Just got a new pup I’m having trouble getting my puppy of 14 weeks to stop eating his poo. During the day I watch him and I always pick up his poo before he gets to it. He sometimes races to eat it before I pick it up. The problem is at night. His last meal is @8 pm and we go to bed around 11-12 but I’ll hear him in the middle of the Night and he’s eating his poo 😠It’s never a certain time at night that he does this. I take him to go poo/pee after his meal on a walk. I do keep him in his crate at night when we go to bed. Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop pups from eating their own poo?
