Post Body

My husband & I have 2 puppies, a 10 month old Boerboel & 9 month old Rottweiler, both males.

Hubby has significantly more experience in dog ownership than me since these are my first puppies, and has been a godsend in helping me be more patient and understand their typical canine behaviors. They are also militarily trained as hubby trained dogs in the Marine corps.

One thing I can't get used to is how much of a big baby our Boerboel is. He can be in the same exact room as we are and will whine endlessly unless we allow him to get closer...I get that dogs are social creatures and feel more secure being close to their owners, they can get nervous, etc. The thing is the Boerboel will be as close as can be and keep trying to shove his 120 pound body even closer even when there is no space left or no way to get any closer. He does this every single day, we are always so close to him but he refuses to stop the constant whining. I have no idea what he's trying to communicate and honestly have grown too annoyed to figure it out.

What is this?? I'm sick of the endless whining & how batshit insane the Rottweiler is. I'm praying that when they hit 1 year most of these behaviors will stop. I wish to God I grew up with dogs because I never expected to be this deeply irritated throughout my first puppy experience.

I get that it's typical with puppies also but not like this, or so I think. As much as I thought I loved dogs I don't think I can torture myself like this ever again
