6mo Maltipoos sit isn't always a sit
Post Body

TLDR: when sit command is given sometimes puppy will sit sometimes my pup does to down. He doesn't recognize the word down. Should I work on differentiating the two prior to teaching additional commands?

I was blessed(I heard that term from someone and it's cheesy but I like it) 6mo Maltipoo. Previous owner had him pee pad trained and taught him sit.

In the month weve had him we have worked on teahcing him his new name, potty trianing outside, crate/pen training and a nap schedule.

Now I am thinking on progressing with training and my only concern is his sit isn't always truly a sit. Sometimes its a down and sometimes it a down where he's laying on his side. Sit also isnt always instant. Sometimes he'll walk around for a few steps then sit. Is that really a big deal? Should I work on reinforcing my training of sit and down separately prior to moving on to training stay and leave it?
