Hi everyone,
I'm working on a paper mache puppet whose head is the shape of a globe. What I'm doing is putting paper mache over an inflatable rubber ball (not a sports ball such as a basketball or volleyball. It's a child's toy.)
I think the paper mache mixture is off because all I did was use a ton of Elmer's glue. It's very thick, and my paper strips don't "dip" into it as much as I have to force them under, then when I pull them out, I have to do it slowly or I risk ripping them. Also, it's very thick, heavy and runny when I put the strips on the ball, and I can only do a few strips per day because, if I overload it, the weight of the glue causes all the strips to sag down.
I think you're supposed to mix the glue with water. Is that correct? Thanks in advance.
