Is Holiday In Cambodia supposed to be anti-capitalist, or is it just satire of the hippie movement in general?

Iā€™ve recently been thinking deeply about this song and analyzing a bit, as Iā€™m currently reading about Nixon and the bombing of Cambodia

From what I understand of this song (and excuse me if Iā€™m wrong) is that itā€™s a direct attack on all of the college aged hippies who think they know the world until their shipped to Cambodia where they would have to face reality in an actual tyrannical communist regime. To be honest, this song sounds like a direct attack on me lmao even though I donā€™t identify as ā€œpreppyā€ by any means. I guess itā€™s because itā€™s the first time Iā€™ve personally delved deep specifically into this point of history.

Isnā€™t Dead Kennedyā€™s socialist, or were they for capitalism? They seem to be directly criticizing the socialist hippie movement through the line:

Youā€™re a star-belly snitch You suck like a leech You want everyone to act like you

Again, excuse me if Iā€™m interpreting this wrong, but I figured this could bring about some relative discussion. What is the true meaning of this song? Have they ever specifically been asked?
