How do punks feel about separating art from artists?

Post Body

Im a metalhead and I always see other metalheads being able to separate art from artists super easily and having no problem with it and its just kinda agreed upon that you should do that.

I feel like as long as you arent actively supporting them as in buying merch and similar things then its fine.

Do punks view it differently? Is the general consensus just to immediately remove all their music from your playlists or is it to just stop supporting them but continue to listen? Is it mostly divided on how punks view it?

Frankly, it's harder for me to do in punk than any other genre. The genre in general paints itself as leftist/progressive in a way that makes it harder for me to be ok with someone like Stza or Justin Sane being so shitty. In contrast, I don't doubt that a lot of my favorite roots reggae artists from the 70s are super homophobic, but that doesn't bother me as much.
