We have the size of Germany and the population of Brazil or about 2.5x the population of Germany. However, when it comes to GDP we underperform in both the west and the east.

Our population density and geography lends itself well to large public transit networks which would include metro and high speed rail.

Speaking of geography, we would have natural defensive borders in the north. The 5 rivers, if managed properly, would not only serve as a green energy source, but also serve as cheap transport of goods as seen in the Mississippi and Danube.
