I am from a non-science background. I have a Bachelor's degree in History and M.A in Library and Information Studies.I wrote my Master's dissertation on eHealth Literacy. I have recently worked as an intern for a healthcare start-up; wrote researched based articles.
I am apprehensive about my future prospects. I have a strong interest in health and fitness. In past couple of years I have read tons of articles, journals listened to podcasts regarding health and medicine. It seems like I have finally found what to do with my life.
However, I wish to make it big as in I want to go as far as DrPH or PhD in Public Health, or becoming a Biostatistician or an Epidemiologist . But what I have come across from my research that non-science background public health workers/ degree holders hardly make up the force,, especially the high level roles. Obviously it makes sense, not going to compare a couples of years of study with 5 years of Medical School, the latter is always be respectable.
Nevertheless, I consider myself a constant learner, I want to give this field a try with my level best.
All I want to know from you all what are my chances of having fulfilling and a stable career in this field ?
Any takes on this or advices would be really helpful.
Thanks.
