Why do we have to process trauma? Why is repressing it so bad?
Post Body

I do mean those as sincere questions.

I've had a PTSD diagnosis for a while. I have been recently "upgraded" to C-PTSD. I had an even recently that has sort of set me back to square one as far as progress in treatment is concerned. I am having problems with trauma I thought I'd resolved years ago.

I started therapy for said PTSD a few weeks ago. Trying to reprocess and reconcile these events in my mind for a second time, plus the new traumatic event. Why can't I just repress everything? It worked so well for years! Or so it seemed.
