Question about opening packs

If I have both 1 tradable and 1 untradable booster of the same kind in my collection, how do I ensure that I open the untradable one instead of the tradable one? Is it automatic? Is there a prompt? I didn't want to try it out in case I opened the tradable one by mistake.
