Fixed role therapy//personality development

So from what I’m understanding is that it’s a form of therapy which utilizes an alter ego with the goal of ultimately behaving like this alternative character, making use of the personality development process. My question is , could this alter ego have a different sexuality? Considering that the alter ego would (hypothetically) have had different social and psychological factors compared to the actual client? (Obviously the biological factors will remain the same)
