I just wrapped up my junior year of college, so I’m on track to have a BA in psychology by next June. I want to get a masters in counseling and I don’t think I have that many criteria for programs, but I can’t find many programs that seem like good options. I’m a decent student, my GPA is a 3.7 (and I have a 4.0 average in my major relevant classes), so I don’t think I’ll be super limited by my grades considering I’m not striving to go anywhere crazy competitive or to get a PhD. I think my GPA will go up too because I have another year of school left with exclusively psych classes filling my schedule.
I’m very interested in the program at Lewis and Clark, but I can’t really just apply to one single program and cross my fingers, so I need to find other options. My criteria I’m hoping to meet are as follows:
1) CACREP accredited
2) Area is pro-reproductive freedom and safe for queer and trans people
3) The program is in person
4) No more expensive to live in than Seattle (where I currently live and want to move away from), preferably a little cheaper
5) Either in proximity to nature or a progressive city
I’m feeling a little hopeless about finding anything that fits these criteria, but I thought I may as well ask and see if y’all have any recommendations. Please let me know!
