Masters Degree in Counseling U.S.A for non-psych majors outlook ?
Post Body

I am at an interesting point in my life right now as I am a 23/m and I am considering getting a Master in Counseling. My degree however was in Business Management. I am maybe coming to the idea that I maybe didn't pick the right career. So I am just exploring my options just in case I want to begin working towards something else.

Something on my radar right now is going back to college for this degree. I think my long-term goal would be marriage and family therapy. I would also consider mental health counseling. I'd put some consideration into school counseling but probably would not go that route. Probably would not care for drug counseling.

I also feel like I would want my own private practice so I can use some of the business skills I had gained. Plus create a higher chance to make more $ ( if you see flaws do let me know)

Is this a field that has growth in it? Is the debt I am likely to get worth the time and effort?

I think the program I am looking at that is near me would cost 45k before scholarships/ graduate assistant opportunities. It would probably taken2-2.5 years

I am also not below doing an online program like the University of North Dakota ( just an example)

My other options would be to stick it out in business, go to an accelerated nursing program, or just keep swimming
