My friend (41F) is hearing things, started 3 or 4 months ago. My understanding is schizophrenia onset at 41 would be very edge-case. Her therapist suspects it's trauma-related. In temporary housing for a year and a half with 5 kids (Housing entered first part of hyphenated last name as middle name. In her case six months would be extreme.). Voices started once she got permanent housing, it makes intuitive sense she had the trauma-crash (very bad 5-6 year period as well, cptsd diagnosis) she was holding off. Voices though? She had a brain scan and it didn't find anything. Seems normal otherwise, I wouldn't have known anything was wrong if she hadn't told me.
