PS3 Bricked, would just formatting the drive on PC work?

basically what's in the title, the dumb fuck I am forgot Sen enabler wasn't compatible with hen and after trying to save it using the recovery mode, it just doesn't display anymore (even the recovery mode, everything is just a black screen)

would buying a sata to USB, formatting the drive then putting it back in the PS3 with an official PS3UPDAT.PUP on a USB work ? or do I have to buy a new hard drive ?

Answer/EDIT in case someone in 10 years has the same question: Bought a 2.5 SATA to USB and formatted the drive to Fat32, installed a firmware through usb and everything is back to normal, ps3 works again
