iso good hdmi converter

Certain games are still too dark like dbz budokai has a dark menu and dark cloud has dark dungeons. even with my tv at full brightness it’s hard to see, i got stuck on a cave wall for longer than i’d like to admit lmao. i have a converter i bought at walmart but im wondering if theres something more i could do or if i should stop trying to play on my 4k samsung tv and just try to buy an older boxed tv
