Prozac Success Story: 12 weeks
Post Body

I (32, F) wanted to offer a success story for those who were worried about if this medication would work for them. It's been 12 weeks and I feel incredible. I'm on 10mg Prozac and Concerta 18mg. I take these meds for ADHD & PMDD (and the severe symptoms of depression and anxiety that I've struggled with as a result of these conditions for many years).

Mood Improvements: I'm no longer obsessive with my thoughts, I can move through feelings easily (even the very difficult/sad emotions). I don't get bogged down anymore. I've been able to get into old and new hobbies as well as exercise consistently. I can feel the range of emotions (from joyful to sadness). I haven't experience an impact on libido (or ability to climax)

Weight Loss: I've been losing weight (and inches off my waist). I'm not worried about gaining weight on Prozac at the moment since I've been pretty good with calorie counting and exercise. [only time will tell how long this lasts I guess]

Timeline: The first 2 weeks were horrible. The 2-3 weeks after that, I felt some slight improvement. The last few weeks is where I've seen the most improvement. I don't drink much anymore (for financial, health, and weight loss reasons) but I can have a few drinks again without a crazy hangover the next day.

PMDD: I experienced a slight dip in mood this last cycle (which in turn effects everything else). I was out of it for 2 days but before Prozac It would be a full week and half of dealing with severe PMDD issues/symptoms. Now, I feel more "normal" and I'm more aware of my emotions and I can communicate about it better.

Edit: I forgot to add that I couldn’t even drink Coffee the first 2-3 weeks because of the effects (high anxiety, super jittery). I’m drinking coffee again (one small cup In the morning) no issues.
