Battle Royal with audience members only
Post Body

Iā€™m not sure if this was common around the year 2000 or if it was just some weird Indy promotion shenanigans.

I remember a small wrestling promotion doing a show in my little Arkansas town. Held at the fairgrounds, maybe 75 people or so.

What as unique about this show was the main event was a shoot battle Royal using only audience members. If you were 18 or older you could pay $20 or so and be in the battle Royal.

The match was obviously terrible, just a bunch of middle aged dudes putting each other in headlocks and other similar holds until they tapped out one by one.

My friend and I were annoyed by this because we would have tried to put on a match, but were just 15 and not old enough.

Looking back, it was weird as fuck. Boring to watch, and so many accidents waiting to happen (nobody was allowed on the turnbuckles).

Has anyone else been to a show with this kind of event?
