Error 9173
Post Body

  • Version of Pro Tools: 2020.5
  • Your Operating System: Windows 10
  • Error number if given one: 9173
  • Hardware Involved: DigiDesign 003
  • What you have tried: Restarting PC, messing with playback engine/cache size, exporting each track manually to new session, clearing up space on C Drive since it was almost full, closing background apps, removing ALL plugins but 1, duplicating all tracks and deleting old ones, deleted all unused tracks within the session, rescanned plugins,

Hi All,

the problem I am experiencing is weird. I have received the 9173 issue before, was able to resolve it easily and move on with life. However this time I only get this error with sessions stemming from the original one -- My original session had this problem, I tried my normal troubleshooting steps and nothing worked. Then I duped each track, deleted the old one -- Exported each track manually, re-imported to brand new session -- removed all plugins and it played back fine. Now when I add just one plugin I get the error (as shown in photo). What makes it more odd is that I can open and play any other session I have saved. Part of me thinks there may be something wrong with one of the audio/MIDI files causing this since other sessions using similar plugins (and a LOT of them running) dont experience this.

I am at a point where I may just start from scratch with a brand new session and re-record everything but just wanted to see if anyone else had this same problem.
