Having an Issue on a multiplayer server where after sleeping, time still moves really fast.

Im running a server from my computer and a while ago me and a friend of mine went to sleep to pass the time and rest up, but after we woke up time still moved at an insanely fast speed and we could move at absurd speeds. This also negatively affected our moodles and nearly killed us. Anyone know how to fix this bug.
