I’ve been seeing a bunch of posts of is Unreal 5 happening, when is it dropping, but the benefits haven’t really been mentioned.
What are the expectations for this new engine or any speculations? Like why is this a big deal?
Seemed to only be terrible performance on the PC for some reason. On series X, I haven’t had a single issue with the game & performance is as good as you would expect for a console game. I think after patches performance is better on pc too but people still complain.
I didn’t even know session was getting a UE5 update until I saw this post, haven’t played for a while.

I think you’d be surprised by the visual improvement. When ark survival evolved (now ascended) moved to UE5 the difference between was quite big. Not only because of lighting either. We got much improved textures, denser foliage, foliage & water physics, volumetric clouds. All with roughly the same if not better performance than on the previous version.
Not saying it would be the same but Session is a much smaller and much less complex game than Ark so I’d imagine the visual upgrade would be big.
