I've had an Optoma UHD50 (https://www.amazon.com/Optoma-UHD50-Definition-Theater-Projector/dp/B078SVRP61) for a few years and been very happy with it; great image quality, low noise, low input lag, and the perfect throw ratio for my room (1.21-1.59:1).
However, one thing that has really bugged me is every time a new frame rate is detected the screen goes black and the message (no source...... searching for source..... source found.....) comes up before the picture returns again. This is annoying, but I could live with it, but now it is happening fairly often in the middle of movies (admittedly it could be a cable issue) and last night it shut down altogether because of a red flashing light and a problem with the fan.
I am thinking that after 3 or 4 years of heavy use, that maybe it is time for an upgrade, and I would rather upgrade and stay at the modern end of things than pay towards any repairs necessary.
Has anyone upgraded from this particular model to something newer and been pleased with the results? Preferable sub $2000 / €1500?
Most important for me is that the throw ratio can project to 120" screen at a distance of 4m, and that the input lag remain pretty low for gaming.
