12v trigger help for a complete novice?

Post Body

Hello! Before I begin I have to warn you that I'm tech-inclined but this is my first foray into projectors, so I'm fairly inexperienced and appreciate your patience. Anyways, I just finished setting up my screen and projector and have encountered an issue:

Projector: https://www.viewsonic.com/global/products/projectors/PX748-4K

Screen: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C68CMHJP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm trying to get the projector and screen to sync power on via 12v trigger. From what I understand in the manual, you run ethernet from the wall remote to the screen, which has a port on it, and then from the wall remote you run 12v mono line to the projector's 12v port. So I did all that, all cables are brand new, connections are tight, etc. However, when I powered up the projector I seemed to be caught in a boot loop-type scenario, with it just cycling on and off from the splash screen and beeping once or twice at random. Once I unplug the 12v from the projector, everything works just fine. I let it fully boot up and then plugged the 12v in and it immediately shut off.

Does anyone have any pointers? Am I doing something grossly incorrect? Thanks in advance.
