My setup has a retractable 120 inch ALR screen in a room with some ambient light. Projector mounted to ceiling about 13 feet from the screen although it's placement is flexible. This would be used primarily for sports and movies.

These two projectors from what I can tell have the same TI DMD chip, similar optics, similar light sources ect. The ht4550i is going to run about $1100 more with tax than than the ht4550i. Is the ht4550i legitimately $1100 better than the x3000i despite the similarities in technology?
