Can I turn my projector on and off with my receiver’s remote?

Projector: Sony VPL-VW295ES
Receiver: Denon AVR s760h
I don’t mind using the Sony remote for turning the projector off and on, but it would be quite convenient to be able to program the Sony remote to turn the projector on when it gets turned on as well. After all, outside of rare instances when I change settings on the projector, I only use it for turning it off and on.
