I’ve decided to skip the first game as I have played it enough times and do Deadfire instead; what would be my best choices before starting?

It’s been a while since I last played Deadfire and I am wondering what choices are best for a fresh start without having done PoE first.
Also, I seem to recall there being a way to unlock all the bonuses, I believe it has something to do with downloading a file and making it so all the achievements are shown as done.
