Hello all,

First off thanks for any information you care to share, I really appreciate how helpful you guys can be. I hope I’m asking my question in the right spot but if not I apologize in advance.

I want to let you guys know a little of my background because I’m going to ask some advice on a gun purchase.

I grew up on a small farm in northern Iowa and am no stranger to gun ownership. However, my family relocated and my farm life became part of my past. I’ve always owned a firearm ever since but haven’t had much need to stay highly informed in the gun culture.

That being said, I would like to add a rifle to my home and have a few boxes I would like to check off before making a decision and I thought I’d run it past a few of you and see if I could narrow my search a bit.

What I would like is a value based rifle for home defense in an urban setting that would be suitable to hunt wild boar in Florida. I wish I had acted sooner on this but this is where I’m at now.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated and if I need to ask this question elsewhere I again apologize for not following protocol.
